  1. Thanks machan. I don't mind being your driver (cause you are coming!).
  2. Will let you guys know when I'm back for the holidays (unfortunately the avurudu holidays isn't one of them). :S I'll also have to borrow a Lancer from someone, because mine is no longer with me. Does having a Lancer overseas count? The new owner of my CS3 is also on the forum by the way, so it'll be like meeting my ex at a party.
  3. Subha aluth avuruddak wewa to everyone and your families!
  4. Go through this thread: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15424-lancer-cs1-glx-2008-model-genuine-brake-pads/
  5. Downloaded last night! Will watch today. Watched The Wedding Ringer a few days back. Not the best comedy, but the overall story was good. It did have some hilarious scenes too.
  6. LOL
  7. You can make the car look good while retaining the car's original components like the bumpers and stuff. Since yours is a station wagon, my opinion is that you should keep all the chrome bits, especially if your bumpers and stuff are still in good condition. If all you are interested in doing is a cosmetic modification, then a good paint job is a must. Straighten out the body and use a good paint. If you are persistent on removing the bumpers, you can smoothen out the front fenders and the quarter panels in the areas where the bumper sides are bolted onto the body. The front air dam will also have to be smoothened out and you will have to relocate the park/turn indicators. Some of the A72 Lancers came with two side air vents on the bonnet, these can be installed easily, so if you do a sweep in the "watte" area in Panchi, you might be able to find a pair. I personally think that the stock "flare" on the wheel arches are quite prominent and doesn't need to be further enhanced. Even the 1600 GSR didn't have a specially flared wheel arch. Since the stock stance of the car looks like it's a bit dipped to the front, you can lower it as tiv has suggested. The leaf springs at the back will have to be changed so that the curve is reduced. The front will be easy because parts from the Box, Galant and even the Celeste is available as a direct fit, so you can go for a disk brake conversion while you lower the car. Wheels... some types of rims are really popular with the A72 (mostly inspired by the GSR), I used to remember all the names but I don't have them at the top of my head now. You can search them out on the web.

    Tyre Prices

We have a thread dedicated to discuss tyre prices and what's good and bad. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/8191-tyre-prices Search and you will find more info.
  9. Saw it a couple of weeks back. Damn good they put the photos with number plates clearly shown.
  10. Judging by OP's activity, it seems the project never got off the ground. What plans do you have for the car?
  11. About time! Good work MADZ & the team!
  12. Thanks for the update. Just forwarded the link to my friend (he is still hesitating and I hope this link will give him some confidence about applying).
  13. Welcome to the forum! While it is always a good idea to seek the opinions of others before buying a vehicle, you should seek advice from people who provide answers with good reasoning. A few weeks back, I bought a 2008 Demio for my parents and the advertisement only lasted for about 18 hours in the classifieds site. I came across such examples even while I was hunting for the car for about a month - they disappeared really fast. Your friends are probably taking about the basic version of the Demio, because the fully loaded one has a high demand. My father absolutely loves the car. Before all this, they were brainwashed by relatives and friends to go for a Toyota (Vitz) or a Hybrid (Fit). More information here.
  14. Did a bit of reading up on Conductive Glue and it does seem to be a good solution for your issue. I don't think soldering the connector is an option because the excessive heat would probably damage the lamination. As for the frequency of use of the demister, I too use it often - when raining and when the AC fogs up the rear windscreen.
  15. I believe a simple Google search for "BMW Gunmetal Grey" would give you the answer.
  16. Here we go again... Please search. We already have loads of information on this! http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/736-fuel-efficiency/page-8#entry215346 EDIT: Follow this thread to learn how to search the forum: http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/
  17. A perfectly functioning alternator outputs a direct current (DC). When the rectifier circuit fails, the current's smoothness is lost and the current will contain "ripples". While modern audio equipment are capable of dealing with some level of impurities in the current, excessive alternations (ripples) will cause them to output the signal through the speakers. Keep in mind that it is this same "impure" current that is flowing through most of your car's circuits now. This is why its critical to repair your alternator as soon as possible.
  18. Did you get your alternator fixed? The sound you hear from the stereo is also a symptom of a faulty alternator. The symptoms will get only worse until your battery will fail to charge. That's why I advised you to attend to this immediately.
  19. Not an expert when it comes to automatic transmission, but your issue also could be due to a faulty Neutral Safety Switch. To ensure, you can get the switch tested. It's pretty easy to test the switch (especially if it's a mechanical one). "Transmission Range Switch" refers to the Neutral Safety Switch/Inhibitor Switch. It's the same thing.
  20. This is commonly referred to as the "Neutral Safety Switch" and is the first point to check when your vehicle does not seem to be responding according to the gear selector. I believe the mechanical switches tend to give more trouble as opposed to other types of Neutral Safety Switches (electronic ones for example). Anyway, glad you managed to fix it yourself without blindly replacing the entire gearbox. Good work!
  21. Congratulations! That certainly is a beautiful car. The look of the entire new Mazda range has been stunning, with that new grille consistently appearing across most of the models. Took me a while to actually get it.
  22. I can't really comment on this because I haven't driven the car, but it does sound odd as Crosswind said. It could be because you are not used to driving the car yet as well. If it gets annoying to a point where you can't seem to properly regulate the throttle, you can get it diagnosed and check the TPS. For sure! Will keep you guys posted about when I'm coming to SL. I still have only the photos from the ad which has a large watermark of the name of the website across each photo. So I doubt I can share it. I will definitely share a couple of photos when my father sends it across. The ones he sent me so far are not that great. Stay tuned! Was doing a bit of reading on Mazda24x7 and look what I found! http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123824858-AN7-s-Mazda-2-1-5-Turbo-Build-Log
  23. I see. That sounds good, and glad that the car is in good condition.
  24. I found the following documents online while I was looking up on the car. Sharing them if anyone is interested. All of the documents below are for the Mazda 2, but they sure are informative (especially the Owner's Manual). Catalogs: - 2011 Mazda 2 Smart Start Guide [Download] - 2012 Mazda 2 Smart Start Guide [Download] - 2013 Mazda 2 Smart Start Guide [Download] Owner's Manuals: - 2011 Mazda 2 Owner's Manual (US Version) [Download] - 2012 Mazda 2 Owner's Manual (US Version) [Download] - 2013 Mazda 2 Owner's Manual (US Version) [Download] I will update the catalogs thread as well.
  25. Woah nice! Congratulations aruna1! Silver one in Kandana? As Sameera has stated above, you should be able to tell the difference between a regular automatic and CVT just by the driving experience. If you want to go a step further, you can give your chassis number to C0lonial M0tors and get them to check for you. Thanks Sameera! All of us should meet up sometime. Anyone else who has a 2007 - 2014 Demio?
