if i may add my opinion on this the Lancer CB series and the Mazdas are very comfortable and the chances of a breakdown are slim if it has been maintained properly,fuel economy wise it will not match the Maruti but apart from it they are smooth and comfortable and the looks are far better than a Maruti,spares available too I cant comment on the Ford Laser as i dont have any expeience with them The early 90's Corolla if you can get for the budget (doubtful) is a good option too

CCTV cameras are not to reduce accidnts overnight! by looking at these we can see many of them happened bcoz f not giving right of way in a roundaabout these vidoes can be run on tv to show the gravity and educate people and can spot accident prone areas to authorities traffic cops messing it up by silly directions is something that needs to be done as an urgent thing too

dude please look at the thread and you clearly see that i was replying to fatjoe regarding his Lancer Box which has been languishing in the garage and abou which he was feeling a bit down,of course I know that Sumiya is restoring a Sunny and doing a damm good job at it too hmmmm wonder who needs to pay attention to whats writen and get help from Radiant Way

way too much you can buy a Nissan B11 for that price or also Lancer C12 GLX/C11 etc with AC and all that even today there was a lancer GLX with p/s and a/c advertised for a similar price on Autolanka

machan we all learn from mistakes so dont be too hard on urself,i have done my share of mistakes too my advice is just get that damm lancer out of the garage and do the rest of the work in a different place as i have seen cars tinkered and painted and then left to rot while they try to repair the engine!!!

Machan I was in a similar situation one of my colleagues asked me to sign as a gurantor sayign he needs money fo his sisters wedding which i agreed and signed (loan was for 450/- it was few years back) i did all that in good faith but what did that guy do? he had asked many of his firends to sign as gurantors and got loans from various banks and fled the country but thank God the loan I signed was not approved hence by Gods grace i was saved if not I would have had to pay the whole damm thing! I learnt a bitter lesson,dont sign as gurantors as people tend to bite the hand that fed them!

Fatjoe as a fellow Lancer driver I strongly suggest that you DONT LISTEN TO THE WATTA FELLOWS ADVICE and dont go in for a C11 carb and try to modify it,it will only meess things up in your car,they will tell anything to sell something if you search carefully im sure you can get a recon lancer box carb in colombo or try the net and brin one down fron Phillipes where its very popular btw,what color is ur car? and what was wrong with the original carb

Has anyon used the services of C - R C----S which has been opened recently and say that they will professionaly check and give a detailed report when you buy a 2nd hand car (compression,emission,body,suspension,accident jobs done before etc),if anyone has uded them please let us know how good or bad they are as its good to give a once over before getting a used car also if there are other places like that let me know too

how is the condition of the A32 road can cars go in it and arrive at their destination with all parts intact? btw,what about eating joints on the way? are there any coz driving/riding on such roads which had not been used for ages is tiresome and will at least a stop or two on the way

To be fair by Sylvi he is just telling what he has been told and he says so in his post too personally i think yes these things could be tampered with easily if they tamper odometers in modern cars then its only a matter of time before they do it with petrol pumps too

if im not mistaken (correct me if im wrong) you definitely need to change the differential and the gear box to be compatible with the new engine btw,how much are you getting that KE72 for ?

most Capris are in good hands and wont be sold for a reasonable price for this project,unless u get rare find which is quite unlikely due to the high demand for them now

KE 20 should be less than 200k as he just needs a body if he is lucky can even get for 125-175 range too,check the sinhala papers

Hi,someone I know has a car bought recently on open papers the last owner is from Ja-ela hence does the new owner go to Ja-ela to renew the revenue licence or can they get it done online or in Colombo 10 secretariat?
