  5. I do agree, When my wife drives the FB 15 it always yields better fuel economy. She usually don't take the risks and sticks to the road rules.
  6. Repairing the gear box is less costlier than purchasing the entire thing. The effect on long run will be same if you replace all the necessary components after inspection. BTW I doubt the amount quoted may exceed when the gear box is dismantled and inspected. I did a repair of the gearbox of my FB 15 two months ago from Indika @ Kolonnawa. It ended up costing me for around Rs. 55,000/=. Of course as I've already said cost depend on the extent of the repair. However I can guarantee this guy. He did a good job. Gives 06 months warranty. Keeps to his words.
  7. Abu, Recently I had a similar issue with my FB15, which has a similar age of your Subaru. Fortunately I found a good mechanic and got it repaired. In my case.. 01. The car took a longer time to shift gears. This resulted reduced fuel economy. The reason was worn out pressure plates. I had to get them replaced. 02. There was a jerk when it shifted to the 2nd gear. It was due to a faulted solenoid valve. I got it replaced too. As per the mechanic's explanation, the grit from the worn out pressure plates has stuck inside the solenoid to make it faulty. He had replaced some other sensors after monitoring the system. now I experience smoother and faster shifting without jerks. Did your car gives out any alarms when you switch it on? In fact mine didn't gave any during initial stage. It just went in to a safe mode weirdly. i.e. all of sudden the car is not shifting beyond 1st gear and all I can do is to cruise at a very low speed around 20 kmph. The car returns to normal mode when I switch off and restart the engine. This thing happened suddenly in an unpredictable manner. Later it started to give 16 blinks of O/D off light before ignition. See for this alarm and count the number of blinks. It will be useful for your mechanic. Also see whether this blink happens during the run. Try to notice whether the fault happens in a cold start or not. These observations are useful for the mechanic to diagnose the fault.
  8. British Human Rights Policy.... Until the mid-60s, indigenous Australians came under the Flora And Fauna Act, which classified them as animals, not human beings. This also meant that killing an indigenous Australian meant you weren't killing a human being, but an animal. From FB

  12. Your local CEB/LECO maintenance team is capable of measuring it. You will required to give them a tip (although it is illegal that's the way things are done in SL)
  13. The electronic devices, when subjected to high voltage surges, coming through mains supply can be damaged easily. since the system you purchased required to be in operation 24 hrs a day it should be protected from the said failures. No earth pin means the system is designed such that it will not pass surge currents to the ground. You will be better off with connecting it to the power supply through an "in line" surge filter or a UPS which has surge suppression. Any line surges will not enter you device, and get grounded through the said units. Having a good earth will make this process effective. If you use a UPS it will operate during power failures without any trouble (Backup time will depend on your load)
  14. Another reason you should buy Apple See, It is the most favored brand of smart phones on planet Earth right now... Source: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2013/10/apple-has-10-percent-of-all-corporate-cash-and-more-profits-than-the-three-other-biggest-brands-combined/280197/
  15. Hope you obtained a warranty from them. The reliability of the 1st cross street vendors products are questionable. Suggest to install a good protective earth (less than 10 Ohms) {this will cost you around Rs. 10,000/= with bonded Cu rods, provided the soil condition is good} and, if the costs permits, install Surge Arrestors for protection.

  22. You can adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor. So it will beep only for the large shocks Steelmate is a reliable brand. Also get the job done through a professional rather than through cheap local guys who do a shoddy job. The siren is useful for protection from theft. once a thief stole a laptop and some valuable items from my car when it was park at ArP*Co show room Nawinna. Security guys told they heard nothing.
  23. Does this issue comes only when you climb up hill? Can you park the car in the same angle and direction of up hill and check whether the fan is running? One of the reasons may be due to a broken pin inside a connecting socket which disconnects the supply path when inclined at steep angles
  24. Very Interestingly Source: http://blogs.aljazeera.com/blog/middle-east/saudis-may-not-have-oil-export-2030 This is a huge impact on oil prices So. Hybrids will be the mainstream vehicles for some time when oil prices started to rocket up. ......But not now. There fore no point in wasting the hard earned money on a hybrid at the moment
