Suzuki Japanese Alto 2015
Sampath Gunasekera replied to amalbasnayake's question in Car Buying Information
Plenty of spare parts will be available here, if only car population of the model is high here. Example: Japanese Suzuki Alto: HA11S - Car population here was very low. It was very difficult to find the spares. Japanese Suzuki Alto: HA23S - This model was very famous here. Hence car population was high. Spare parts were easily available. -
(1) One reason for delaying may be , detain the consignment by the customs (If consignment is here by Sri Lankan Customs or if is not reached to Sri Lanka, by that end customs). For some electronic parts it is very common. Courier agent will request some additional information/proof from you for clearing. Please check this as well. (2) Some tracking services offer your e-mail to register on-line for processing movement. You will get e-mail alerts while passing every single event in the process. If possible try to register. (3) Basically almost famous courier lines deliver goods without any delay most of the times. But some instances, they connected with some local agents which are not much efficient . Ask your seller to check with courier line and inform you their local agent for Sri Lanka.

As far as I know T/T payments are not allowed for vehicle imports. You have to go through L/C (Letter of Credit) only. (1) Go to nearest bank - Check with them how to open a L/C. Get a L/C application and read it. Then you will have some idea. (2) Contact a Clearing and forwarding agent - You can understand how to clear the goods and taxes involved. Whole import procedure is very lengthy to describe here. Forum members are unable to describe each and everything. I have given you the point where you can start the thing.

Might be he knew that " When loudspeakers are at work, pocket radios need to keep switch-off" by his own experience at home. She could have breastfeed comfortably, if husband could take the ride. I am not clear on missing this option.

My personal idea is, please leave the car with your sister and be a good brother. You have selected a wrong horse for this purpose.

Kadawatha interchange (near to Kadawatha Commercial Bank) seems very busy these days with constructions. However entrance to the OCH , just found after Kadawatha town when moving to Kandy side, was idling.

In the past Japanese Alto and Wagon R had a big relationship. Most of the things were common and even they shared same owner's manual. I guess present Alto, Wagon R & Every all are using R06A engines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_R_engine

Isuzu Bighorn Facelift Conversion Project
Sampath Gunasekera replied to EAP's topic in DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
Great work mate !!! Final result is superb. Nice to see such a project rather than going for so called "body permit". Traveled a lot with Isuzu Gemini (First Generation) & Isuzu Florian in my childhood. Lovely reliable diesel workhorses . -

Did you disconnect the battery recently for any purpose? Did you follow the time setting procedure same as in Owners Manual?

There is a possibility , it might be a mistake made by RMV. I have experienced such mistakes done by RMV in three times in my own CRs. (1) Once, part of my name was absent in CR. (In 2005) (2) When I asked RMV to correct my name , revised CR came without printing class of vehicle (Motor Car). :speechless-smiley-004: (3) When I get existing car in 2011, "Engine Capacity: 1000cc" was not printed in my CR.(Ei yako mewa matama wenne ???) :speechless-smiley-004: So I immediately rejected CR and asked Unimo to get it correct from RMV. After that my CR was corrected by RMV. According to my experience, there is a possibility to mistakes appear on CR made by RMV. We had a Liteace imported in 1991 and sold in 2011. At the selling point only we observed that two letter code is missing in engine number in CR issued in 1991. But we had all old slips and inspection documents by RMV showing correct engine number. Printing mistake was done by RMV. So we requested with all proof documents and RMV corrected the CR after 20 years. So this is my experience with lovely RMV.

I am not sure, but might be driver lost his clutch balance while engaged in reverse gear (while engine switched on). Sudden jump to backward. (Nissan saved life of Toyota ) However it reminds me the method used to examine the death of "Dodampe Mudalali" fallen/pushed from 4th floor of CID in 1966. Details story appeared in last week Sunday Lankadeepa - Diyatha, if I am not mistaken.

If it was an early version car , air bags should not available since this car is a standard auto or standard manual (as signal lamp is fender mounted). Below are two photos I clicked at agents few years back. Both cars were being repaired there, after they met with front collision accidents. (But don't know how bad accidents) . But such a costly repair (Rs.1.2 Million) for a car valued about Rs. 1.7 Million will worth?

Much appreciate if you can scan and post the JDM catalog in that photo, to my catalog thread.

My suggestion is take her to Unit#d Mot#rs - Orugodawatta. This is a big job. You have to replace a list of parts. Some times you may have to replace even chassis parts and align the body.

Engine Trends - Turbo Vs Naturally Aspirated
Sampath Gunasekera replied to B2Spirit's topic in General Automotive
That might happened to Volvo S40 1.9D Diesel cars in year 2000. This model was a big failure. Volvo replaced our ones (as I heard total 8 cars here) engine at free of cost under warranty. This diesel car is fun to drive like a petrol one, gives good fuel economy , but big failure of upgrading Volvo's technology there. Two years ago one car was on Autolanka for sale and it was fitted with a Toyota diesel engine. Mean while we replaced 1C engine with 2C engine in our Toyota Liteace in 1999 and until we sold it after 12 years, nothing did with the engine other than regular maintenance. -

Great work Madz !!! (Pls Don't switch back like last time ) -
Don, agree with you. But now a days people mainly face problems with the cost factor and less space factor. 1. All brick build - Those days 9" width solid brick walls ("ingineru gadol"), but now mostly 6" width brick walls ("loku gadol") due to cost factor. 2. Clay roof tiles - Again cost factor , goes for asbestos 3. Plenty of vents on windows - Now Security problems 4. Plenty of trees in the garden particularly in front of windows providing cover from direct exposure to the sun - Now limited land space I think what might have helped further would have been higher ceilings. - At lease now a days good with open rafter roof method But I have seen some good architects design modern houses to overcome these problems very successfully. Below interesting photos I clicked at Richmond Castle, Kalutara ; full of wonderful architectural features including soundproof walls. This is how they have placed air vents on ground floor (dancing floor) and under ground air channels opens at Kaluganga river and continuous cross ventilation keep the floor and internal environment cool. Natural cross ventilation plays a big role. (I am sorry if I am taking you out of the topic) One more point to add here since this thread is related to Air Conditioners. At our office we use A/C (window type) which is having no water draining outlet. It has a mechanism of evaporating the accumulated water by a small flap on rotating fan blades. This kind of A/Cs are very rare here and we always get imported from Middle East. (We have used 3 "Sanyo" units and now use a "General" unit.) Our office is situated in an old shopping complex and due to its internal building location, draining A/C water is a big headache. So we don't consider electricity factor and use this special A/C units over 18 years.
