It's a mix of both the mawanella like climate & the kandy like hill-climate. Have a few friends there. Once you get used to it, life can be boring wherever you are, just have to find a way to do something that makes us happy and makes our existence matter at the same time. Have you moved to the U.S. with your whole fam?

True I agree.Good scenic places to drink around kadu though. They were. But now half of the family moved back.

  5. Mate. I would appreciate if you could update on your Nissan leaf. Thank you
  6. Try to keep it nissan bro. The vetarans have already spoken above. They have lot of experience on these matters. I was a noob when I joined. Now I have a good knowledge on automobiles. Not an expert or anything,I learn something new every day. But this forum really educated me.
  7. Looking good. Always satisfying to have good brakes and suspension. Thats a beautiful car now. Must be one of the best around I'm sure!
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. So I called couple of people in customs. The tax would be close to 30 Million. The cost to buy one is 12 Million. Conversion is north of 4 Million. So the total would be like 50 million rupees. As much as I love to get it down. Thats impossible, I would do charity with that money even if I could afford it. And buy a LWB Range Rover. Hmmm I'm sad now?
  9. I thought this guy bought one. He was even asking about a battery change on his key. Wtf is even going on!
  10. Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing good. So I recently saw one of these babies and I was wondering if I could import it to Sri Lanka? Besides having a humongous 5.7 hemi in it. Its a left hand drive.. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. I put some extra pics in. Jumping around kike a kid
  11. Are GDI engines that bad? Only the older Montero's and IO's had this issues. Also a lot of vehicles are GDI nowadays. Specially most of the euros. Also DCT issue is mostly on Honda's. I would take DCT over that noisy slow CVT anyday.
  12. Any updates mate?
  13. Guy I know has a Jag X type and S type. He wants to sell one. Should I pull the trigger?

It will be a weekender. KMPL/market / not C numbers and all that typical jargon is not relevent for me.

I can put 200,000 aside for repairs every year.( Got others cars that burn my wallet ?)

Going for the S type means pulling the trigger at yourself?

The S type with its smooth curves is a real beauty though.

Sorry for the delay guys. I actually locked myself out again ?. The X type was sold and I have decided not to go with the S type. Thank you

AFAIK you should be ready to loose the money that you are investing. That’s how you start the game. This is what I’ve heard?

In the Sri Lankan context or stock markets in general?

If you want to learn how stock markets work and gain theoretical knowledge about investing, there's a lot of books. Start with for dummies and move on with Beating the street - Peter Lunch, intelligent investor- Benjamin Graham. There are text books (I don't know the names) if you want thorough knowledge.

If you want some practical knowledge in investing in the Colombo stock exchange, (CSE) go meet a stock broker. Central depository system (CDS) conducts one day workshops for investors. More info here https://www.cse.lk/home/banners

Doesn't take much time or money to get started, mind you, it's a different ballgame in CSE. Many pump and dump schemes with manipulative big players.

  17. Hi guys. Whats the update on the Xbee? Im interested in the MZ 4WD version. Also are all the cars 1.0L Turbo AND Hybrid? Or separate versions with 1.0L “yes turbo-no hybrid” and “ 1.0L Yes Hybrid-no turbo”? Also what a good place to buy one?
  18. Am I the only person who thinks that ads on the “Quick” site are way too overpriced? Not just Cars, but most items posted...

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes they are expensive. But I was actually talking about the "prices of the Products", not the price to post an ad.

  19. Amen ?
  20. Hey guys. Back after some time. We never pulled the trigger on the MG. I saw a couple of 2015s loaded going for 2.9m, what does everybody think? Feel tempted to get it!
  21. They all look fab. But that E30 just blasts everything else away. The e46 M3 is also very tasty. The rest urrghh not that striking. Pretty thats for sure, but nothing to go nuts over. I strongly believe cars made before 2010 was better. Specially 80s, 90s and eaarly 2000's. Mordern cars might be more reliable, small pampering details, tech infested, safer and better daily cars. But nothing can beat those oldies. Gimme buttons over screens anyday!
  22. I'm guessing ECU.
  23. Wow you got some nice pieces. The bond will cost an arm and leg nowadays. Even I buy most of my watches on sale overseas. Is it me, or do Tissot have very good quality and extremely good value? Post some pictures in the free time if thats ok. Im sure everybody will like that ?
  24. Hey guys. Hope everyone is safe from the sad attacks going on. We will get over this tragedy.stand strong! So the reason I started this thread was, I wanted to see if we had any watch enthusiasts. I myself enjoy the marvels of a good timepiece. Though I am an amateur and never claim to be a pro horologist. I thought that maybe we could have disscuss and hang out in this thread to all watch related things. Getting bored of thel higanna posts(you guessed it). I acquired a few pieces along the years. Some great, some not so much. It is a very expensive hobby. Mainly due to prices increasing recently 10× because of social media goons who just dont value the piece. They dont care about nothing but the brand logo. But proudly show it off on Instagram and brag(ow bro rado ekak, suppa bande, elada bro?). Im sure we have many pro horologists with us in AL. If you have time. Please share your prized possessions with us. Thanks guys
