    Nope the engine code would be 4B11T then, but you never know with RMV buggers, maybe someone forgot the "T"

    No, even the 2016/17 facelift had an automatic transmission (for the 1600CC version). The only major mechanical difference made since 2007 was the engine upgrade they did in 2012 (4A91 to 4A92) few minor differences were made along with the engine change: the exhaust was redesigned: 4A91 Exhaust: 4A92 exhaust: EPS was replaced by HPS. I've heard that the exhaust manifold is also different, no idea what the difference is

    Tempting, right? But ours being autos would make the swap rather complicated I think. The 4B11 was offered with a manual but not with an automatic, it had a CVT so we'd either have to get a manual box or the CVT meant for the 4B11.

    Not really, I've heard that the issue with the alt belt adjuster of the WagonR is caused because it doesn't have adequate covering; many people have experienced the issue after hitting a puddle or getting the engine bay pressure washed from underneath

    The ultimate repair/ moderate upgrade 4A91 1500CC engine swapped with 4B11 2000CC non-turbo engine. I don't know the owner - just a random reg number look-up

    Just make sure it won't fall off, get some more cable ties to secure it in place if necessary. I don't think this is that much of a cause for concern but get it repaired at the first chance you get

    What could possibly go wrong, the worst that could happen is you losing the entire piece before you get it repaired... It's just a plastic shield that protects the engine bay from splashes and such

    Looks like the engine under-guard, previous owner must have bottomed out the car and broke it. You could get it plastic-welded for cheap rather than replacing

    Well the logic of using de-ionized water in cooling systems is its reduced conductivity neh? I have a brake fluid tester which tests the conductivity of fluids - (it tests the water content of brake fluid by measuring the conductivity of the brake fluid). Tap water makes the tester light up as a christmas tree while the distilled water I use reads as having 0 conductivity so I'm guessing using it won't hurt the cooling system as long as the correct coolant concentration is maintained

    Yeah maybe that's the case I would've bought a premixed coolant had there been 1l containers of Mitsubishi super long life coolant which is recommended for the Lancer, but the agent only carry 4L cans of the stuff. Couldn't find an equivalent coolant either (the workshop manual of the Lancer calls for " high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrate and non-borate coolant with long life hybrid organic acid technology" - the only equivalent I could find was Valvoline zerex asian vehicle coolant which doesnt come in 1l containers either so in the end I resolved to use distilled water rather than using a wrong coolant. If you're going through the coolant route make sure to find the manufacturers recommendations for the EC. Mitsu super long life coolant is blue so the green coolant used in your EC might be different

    What is the difference between those two? How does it affect the cooling system? Almost all battery water bottles sold in SL say "distilled water" on the label though

    You can use distilled water upto 1l (for 20k+ kms my Lancer still havent lost 500ml) mine has a 6l coolant capacity, the coolant concentration recommended by Mitsubishi is 30%-60% according to the workshop manual, so adjust accordingly to your coolant capacity. You could buy OEM coolant from UNIMO too

    Hey that reminds me of my last car selling experience- So I advertised my previous car for sale alright, the first buyer who agreed to pay the asking price was a queer one - he didn't even take a good look at the interior, much less a test drive - he just fell in love with how good the exterior looked- "brand new wage thiyenne mahaththaya!" was what he said. He was right - I know a thing or two about paint protection (wax, people, wax!) - so the very next day we travel to the bank, do the paperwork, he deposits the agreed amount while I fill out MTA forms and stuff - while all this is going on in comes the protagonist of the story. The buyer introduces the newcomer to me as a close relative of his - a professional astrologer. He had calculated the best auspicious time for the new owner to get in the car (or hand the key over- I can't remember which) so anyway, after a wait of more than half an hour we do the deed on the auspicious time - the new owner wanted to take me home, didn't want me to take the bus, bless his kind soul! We were on our merry way when he suddenly remembered he needed a photocopy of some document and we kept an eye for a "communication". You see where this is going now dontcha? Le wild communication appears - driver slams on the brakes - a poor sod who was riding his CD90 too close rear ends the car - gets airborne - lands on the rear trunk and leaves one of his incisors on the trunk lid. We all get out - the very first thing the astrologer told me was "hondha welawata nekathata waahane paarata dhamme, naththan apey passen enne bike ekak nemey tipper ekak!"

    Stock Yokohamas which comes with the Lancer make a heck of a din - sounds like a tornado coming your way if you happen to open a window ?
