  1. Those are super effective! My neighbor has a UV setup in his 3000 liter fish tank and it just got rid of excess bacteria and made the water clear overnight.
  2. Please help, I'm in process of taking apart my bike and there's this evil screw stopping me from seperating the radiator and the water pump. What do I do? I tried WD40 with a flat and different types of screwdrivers yet I only ended up ruining the head in one of them.

There's a radiator block, I need to give it to the mech to get it cleaned before I lose a gasket. The rivets join the radiator to the water pump and that's an even bigger pain to take out so I'm not gonna mess with that.

Thank you and bless my dear people.. What better way to outlast the outbreak and boredom other than some self taught DIY.

  3. Laugfs car center was displaying an ad saying they are open for 'getting rid of germs from your precious car'. Wonder what they plan to use in order to so.

  5. You have to admit, the phrase 'mint condition' is so misused now, that if your car is actually a mint condition one, consider it a brand new showroom car (leave the showroom seat coverings on for more street cred). Mint condition is now relegated to every karatha in town.

Sri Lankan car sale pitches are lit af

"Supiriyak Soyannekuta" is the latest one it seems - makes me cringe for whatever reason

Yeah bro, they are cringey in every language you say those lies in.

Especially when mated with the big hand gestures and expressions some of them do.

My friends has kept his EP82 in a sales and that sale fellow has advertised it as mint condition, accident free along with the usual reduced odometer mileage. Like bro, that car has a deep 1 foot scratch on the door and a big dent in the rear quarter after being hit by a bus. Of course, the sales guy says it's in supiri Japan vahanaya condition. Me knows what that car has gone through in the past lol, I can't even stand that guy anymore.

  6. Had to ruin it ? Now it's as special as a wagonR Sure the later models here didn't have the center tach?
  7. You know your car is special when it has a big tachometer right in the middle
  8. I see Didn't he mentioned anything about the way it drove?
  9. The cars are there, the thing is you won't see much up for sale as most Mazda buyers love their cars and keep them for a long time until they get bored or the warranty/lease runs out. No one here owns one so far.
  10. Toyotas have always been overrated anyways. The Elantra is a good reliable car according to what I have observed abroad. Parts aren't in every shop like a Toyota but it's there. Also, you got agent support for worst case scenarios so nothing to worry. The interior is quite fancy compared to similar sized cars with flat and bland interiors. Fuel consumption is good for a 1.6, I might guess an average of 10-12kmpl. But I think that 1.6 is the same reason why our Thel enthusiasts haven't imported much of these cars. It's also the same reason cars like the Soul, Cerato, Optima and Sonata aren't common here. Lankans prefer a Sedan to have a sensible 1.5 engine, they are willing to go for a bigger engine only if it's an SUV. Let's wait for an expert to explain facts.
  11. Please don't open more than one thread for the same topic. @Davy
  12. Both have scary gearboxes so staying away from them is the ideal choice.
  13. Do you want to read it to learn about how to maintain your car or...?
  14. If so, do write up about it here! Would be appreciated.

    Suzuki swift 2008

Like Davy said, do preventive maintenance! Our swift has this same problem where it heats up alot yet the needle stays in the center. Be careful on long drives, as it's a small engine give it a 5-10 minute rest every 1 and half hour on long trips. I think it's a common issue with the swift. But do get your radiator cleaned, change the cap and check the thermostat. Trust me, it's cheap and gives alot of peace of mind. I lost a gasket after having a radiator block, faulty cap and trusting that stupid temp. gauge. Do a fuel system tune up and check your driving manners. But still, auto Swifts and marches are the worst offenders for fuel consuming hatchbacks. I don't think you can get more than 12kmpl. We bought a manual to avoid that problem (does an average of 13-15 outstation) Also, you can hear the fan noise from inside too when idling, but haven't heard during driving. Hope yours isn't that loud.
  16. So it's in the news that the confirmed patient from Angoda had been in Kandy a few days ago. Hope my fellow members from the hill country and everywhere else are safe and have taken necessary precautions.

  19. Would be an interesting project. Considering the magna looks classy and has some nice features. Also, it's not an unreliable engine I believe. This engine is shared with other mitsubishis too (correct me if I'm wrong) Use the engine for a while until it blows up. After that do the swap.. But I'm not sure how our in-house mitsubishi loyalists would react to your sacrilegious idea. But I think you are better off buying an actual JZX90 Mark II which looks cooler and is easier to sell too. Plus, none of the extra swap costs or headache. I was told the manual JZX90s are rising in demand due to Tourer V swaps going on in the country these days.
  20. If battery was the problem, then I don't think you might even have a cold start. Because during the cold temp of the morning, batteries are at their weakest. It's why weak/old batteries tend to die during winter seasons. You case doesn't sound like a battery issue, more like fuel system and intake related.
  21. Have you cleaned the throttle body/injectors/plugs/fuel filter/fuel pump? Our car required long cranking a while back until I got those things cleaned and now it's a one shot start
  22. A*W has advertised the new Swift Sport 1.4T at a permit price of 5.5 mil. Good grace, I can't stop laughing. Never have I thought the day would come when a Suzuki will demand the same as an Audi.

  23. My motorbike's gauge goes haywire. Shows 3 bars when almost empty and 2 bars even after a 500 top up.
  24. Matter of perspective really
