Dear friends,

How we identify whether civic EK3 is VI or VTI rather than looking rear badge. Is there any internal parts represent above models. Also all VI & VTI are Vtec or not? Waiting for your replies....

The Vtec comes with two Vtec Solenoids next to the distributer

Well if you're looking at an EK3 Vi, it'd have two solenoids as kelum_wj mentioned for the 3 stage VTEC engine. If you're looking at a VTi, you're looking at an EG8 with the normal VTEC engine, not an EK3 as that trim came earlier, or someone stuck those badges/stickers on an EK3.

mate..vti comes in ek3 as well. thats the ek3 singpaore version which is almost in par with the ek3 vi JDM version. there are so many icons which differntiate Vi from a vti.

vti got discs all around where as vi not.

vti engine code d15z7 (3 stage vtec) vi engine code d15b (3 stage vtec)though the engine codes are different, its the same engine.

in cars came with CVT, vti cvt geabox code is S4VA where as vi cvt gearbox code is M4VA

apart from that ek3 vti comes with leather interior and mutiple CD loader fitterd by the honda dealership in singapore.

Yea I was speaking of the JDM cars :( My bad, sorry.

So basically the SIng VTi version would be cheaper as there seems to be a less demand than JDM cars, was badged as the Civic, not Civic Ferio, and comes with a sticker?
