Back Pressure Of The Muffler,,,

hi guys,, i'm running a starlet GT,, recently i changed it for a straight through exhaust,, keeping the old muffler,, and yesterday i saw the woolen things pop out from the silencer (i think those are for the noise reduction)

and i feel the back pressure is gone,, car is running freely,, no more hesitates,,

guys all i want to know,, is it must that u have a back pressure on exhaust on any vehicle,, if it's not what are the cons,,?

True, and you'll get more peak power at the top range, giving you slightly higher top speed. Also the engine will rev more freely. Very low back pressure may hurt acceleration slightly, but not to cause much concern.
