Tranmission Oil Change - Toyota Vitz

I purchased a toyota vitz couple of days back, & the seller adviced to change the transmission oil, the milage of my vehicle is 20000 & is it necessary to change the transmission oil & hw often does it need to be changed & also i wud like to knw roughly how much it would cost for it & if there're any varities of transmission oils.

You should really get the fluid changed then.

What year is the vehicle?

its in 2007 - a reconditioned car

The owners manual does say the fluid should be inspected every 20k km or 1 year, whichever is less and replaced every 40k km or 2 years, whichever is less right? So roshi_123, it's better to replace it than take risks with a CVT box as they're very sensitive to the quality of the oil.

You're welcome and btw, you're better off buying and servicing that car at T*y*t* L*nk*, we do so with the Yaris, so if you ring them up, they'd tell you how much CVT oil costs.
