Peugeot 205

Hi Guys,

Has any one seen a Peugeot 205 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peugeot_205) in Sri Lanka? It was our very first car (purchased used while overseas) and I would love to get my hands on one again. I have been scanning the papers, magazines and the Auto Lanka classifieds for over 2 years but have not seen any for sale. I have not even seen one on the road in Lanka. I am not worried about the condition of it as restoring it will be great fun.

I have seen a White 205 here with English plates... not sure if it is a GTi though...

Recently I saw one, while driving. Can't remember where.

There are few205s plying on our roads (bearing 17-,18-, 19- plates).

In Sri Lanka this modelis not as common as its concurrent siblings 405.

The reason might be it was too expensive for its size.(More than 17 years ago CarMartadvertised one for Rs.950,000/=.)

There was a white GTi that was raced by one of the Kavikara brothers (Gamini?) in the 90s (and I think Rizvi Farouk raced one too) . Haven't seen the cars since - hopefully they're still holding on to them One of my personal favorites.

Thanks for your replies guys. I guess I just have to keep looking until I find one for sale or approach the owner if I see one parked. It is good to know they are available here.
