Why not share the article on this forum where all interested parties can have a look into this claim? If its a pre-2010 Prius related issue then there would be around close to a million (if not more) cars affected by this...

why can't you share that article with all forum members?...it'll be needful to all..I also already given up my idea for a hybrid prius...not because of break system..it'd due to the lack of spare parts in Sri Lanka now..but still we are interested to see that article..

ummm the recall was done last year for vehicles in the 2010 model-year ONLY. It was due to a problem with the software used controlling the ABS system and regenerative brake systems. Previous years don't apply either. Also the other major problem was the gas pedal recall which was for the 2004-2009 model years. Since it's a recall and the owners of the car were most likely notified and had the problem rectified (I seriously doubt there are people out there who didn't know the problem since it was the biggest story of 2009), there shouldn't be an issue with the brakes or the accelerator pedal.

Please try to get facts correct before trying to scare people.

BTW I doubt T***ta L**ka is your best source of info on hybrids. I just went to my usual garage to drop off my fuel injectors for cleaning an hour ago. A friend of my mechanic who works at toyota was over there and talked to me about hybrids. He had no clue about the hybrid system and said there was a lexus hybrid with a blown tranny or something that they couldnt even figure out how to fix.....

Also, slightly OT, why the heavens krishanssilva's original post is having "This post has been edited by Pericles: Today, 02:02 PM". WTF Peri?!

removed his email address. Too many shady possibilities
