I have Suzuki Swift beetle 2006 model auto gear car. I have noticed that while driving if i brake and slowdown the car handbrake signal comes on and when I step on the accelerator again within few secnds it disappears. Is it a sign of a some problem? Any of the Suzuki beetle owners in this page could you please help me out to solve this problem?

Not sure about the swift setup but it could be a misaligned sensor. I'm taking this from my experience with the IO so it's a completely different vehicl but just might be applicable to you.

this would have happened because of the recent service.,i had somthing similar too,it became alright after replacing the oil seals on the rear drums.

probably something would have been stuck.take it to a mechanic and tell him the problem, just check the hand brake cable and stuff.

I don't think so. Because I noticed this problem even before the last service. But I will check again oil seals and hand brake cable. thanks bro.

The handbrake light coming on just indicates there is an issue with the breaking system.

One problem could be as some people say the hand brake sensor is faulty.

But most probably it's an issue with the brake system itself (brake oil low, sensor issues etc). Get it checked out asap !

Don't really know any places that handle suzuki vehicles. Eitherway it's best if you can get it checked at a decent place. As Don said, it could also be an issue with the brakes. Any issue with brakes should take priority.

Yes. Many advise me the the same. Most probably the sensor is faulty because I checked the break oil. Thanks bro!

As said by a fellow member if theres something wrong with your brake system hand brake light lights up. And do u feel any difference in braking ?

No. I dont feel anything unusual. it works fine. But As advised I will take it to the A*w, the agents. Thanks for the reply!

if it only comes when you step on the brake pedal then it can be something very simple like burnt out brake/park light in the rear light cluster (in some models) or it can be worn out brake pads and it's metal part barely touching/rubbing against the disk.

Maybe you are correct. Brake pads and the censors are the two things I didnt check. I'm going to take it to the agents A*W to check next week. Thanks!
