Michelin Ceo Dies In Boating Accident

Edouard Michelin,a true motorsports enthusiast, Chief Executive Officer of the Michelin tyre company, has died following a boating accident on Friday. The 42-year old drowned near the island of Sein, off the coast of Finisterre in northwest France, after his boat sank while fishing for sea bass.

The death was not only a huge loss to Michelin's Formula One involvement, but to the Michelin supported motorsports world as a whole.

Mr Michelin had been aboard a fishing boat, 'Le Liberte,' that sank in still unexplained circumstances. The boat left the Brittany port of Audierne on Thursday night. His body was recovered on Friday afternoon.Michelin's fishing companion, Guillaume Normant, was still missing.

Not likely. At least not by a rival tyre manufacturer. Michelin announced their pull out from F1 long time ago. Even if they were to be the sole tyre supplier, they were not in favour of a single supplier rule.
