Pulsar FN15 is probably the cheapest of the list (I've heard manuals going for as low as 1.2 million) and is a reasonably good car.

IMHO the lancer is the nicer car to drive (I think the CK2 has the 1.5L engine) closely followed by the EK3, though some people will disagree with me and say the Honda has a better ride. But to me the chassy and the driving dynamics of the CK2 (on which the Evolution 4,5,6 is based on) is better than the Honda though a V Tec Honda engine will perform better than the bog standard 4G15 engine. But I am biased as I own and drive a Mitsubishi.

Now if you can get a Mirage Cyborg that is a different matter as you'll get the Mivec 1.6L engine.

Out of your choices I think ek3 and ck2 are better choices. Or Mazda 323.

However if you are going for European brands then beamers and ford is also there, not much aware of models. Also Nissan p11

mazda familia, 3 series bimmer, nissan primera p11,

Considering all your picks..I personally prefer Honda Civic ek3..It's good car and you don't have to forget about resale value..coz..Civic has a reasonably good resale value in Sri Lanka..I'm not sure about Lancer...how about FB 14?....thats also a good one... oh BMW E36 also falls into your budget mate...but you'll have to take good care of Euro vehicles..

You can even get a Subaru Legacy. Saw one on AL for less than 1.2 mil.

cant seem to find that one, saw a impreza wagon for 9mil. Thats a bargain

Chaps I am curious, why is the legacy a better buy than the EK3 or the lancer ? While its got a boxer engine it isn't really the 2L turbo is it ? Same goes for the Imprezza.

When it comes to Chassis I don't think there is a lot to chose between the Imprezza and the Lancer since both were the basis for 2 famous rally cars, though the Imprezza does have AWD.

Well it depends on personal taste, EK3's are more of a mainstream kind of car while the legacy was made as a luxury fast ride to compete with bmw and mercs ext. this model isnt turbo charged but its still a boxer, and you know its gonna sound sweet

But then again its more of a personal taste thing :alc:

Well, it's a 2.0l for less than 1.2 mil! Rather a good bargain, if you ask me. Besides, there ain't no replacement for displacement... :D

But is the legacy we're talking about a 2L? The only ones I've personally had a closer look of have been the RS and the B4 variety. I remember a fellow forum member sharkster used to own an RS. I don't know how much they go for these days.

A little note of caution though, not every chap in the country know the intricacies of the boxer engines and the AWD transmission. For example a simple thing like changing a clutch isn't as straight forward as some cars, and subaru experts like TP do come at a premium (but obviously know what they are doing).

well as it was suggested before. The e36 would be the best in the category. U spend about 1.2 and another 200k to bring it to perfect condition (if needed) and then u got ur self a car that is unmatchable in the category!.

Yup. According to the info in the classifieds.

One of my neighbors sold his B4 for 2.2 mil recently, dont exactly know how much the RS would cost though
