can some one help me. I checked few vehicles, finally narrow downed to Yaris & Terios. I'm worried about resale. which will be the better option when considering resale?

Hi Selvanath,

Rule of thumb is that the vehicle you buy B.new or unregistered will end up at the price of a similar model registered 3-4 years ago provided there is no drastic change in vehicle taxation. The Yaris goes in the range of 2.7-3 mil while the Terios sells at around 3.5 mil used.

Hi Selvanath,

For a small SUV with a 1500cc engine, Terios has a decent pulling power (not for heavy off roading or similar power hungry activities though). Probably as a result I can't say its fuel consumption is all that good which could impact on the resale specially in the Sri Lankan context.

So if its just re-sale value you are after, Yaris will be a better choice. Lower in Fuel consumption and IT'S A TOYOTA... What more a Sri Lankan buyer want... So resale would be good. (Makes me feel a bit sick though )

if u'r concern about depreciation go for a vehicle used 3-5 yrs in sri lanka. Past the period vehicles depreciate the most.

The same model were there at that time, and for the brand new budget u can go for a better one eg:- grand vitara, x-trail(new).

By the way the terios is same as the toyota rush so the terios is also a toyota so from the 2 go for the terios
