Side Mirror Swap

Need your help in following,

Is it possible to swap right hand driven vehicle’s passenger side power mirror with a left hand driven vehicle’s driver side side mirror?

Will I be able to function it with current controls with existing wirings?

I think it should work most of the time. But depends on the car also, as sometimes the physical shape of the mirror itself changes based on if its passenger/driver.

Also the angle of the mirror is different as the passenger mirror is generally slanted more so that the reflection is of the back of the car and not the driver in the car parked parallel to you.

i guess depends on the car; in my case, optically there is a difference (driver side outer 20% or so has different curvature to "see" into the blind spot) and also electronics (passenger mirror has different settings for reversing - but I guess this difference is in one of the ECUs and not in the mirror itself)

No This is a Mazda Familia 2001 one I'm talking about.

just thought of getting down a Protege 323 side mirror from ebay

and swap it with my Fam. since it seems 6 times cheaper.

No postage worries as one of my friend is going to hand carry it.

What do you guys think, worth take the risk?
