Hey guys.I rode a hornet last week, and actually fell in love with it.I did some search on this and found out the price depends on the chasis eg- 100,120,130 etc.I want to know the difference between the these bikes.I know very little about bikes because I'm more in to cars.Your help will be greatly appreciated.Thank You

Well buddy

Hornet 100-115 chasis are The first generations of the model

slight differences of helmet locks, disks, mudguards meters as i recall are the major changes

From chasis 120 onwards the bikes have a Sensor Carburettor probably a TPS on the right side of the carb, differences in meters and disks

and 125 -130 they are equivalent i guess .

the 140 and the 150 ( meters and disks) are the later versions with no major difference ,but when u ride a 150 it feels better than the 1st gens,im not sure why .thats all i can recall maybe someone can shed more light into this

There are alot of bikes with fake chasis numbers ,so if u are getting one better check it twice,

Guys isnt it because the CH140 - 150 were kinda put together after some time compared to the CH100 -115 which makes it more recent ... as a result undergone less trashing around so its just much newer and feels better?

coz the Chassis, engine mounts and engine block is still the same made out of the same materials isnt it...??

There is supposed to be a sticker under the seat with the orginal code, and with it guess you could find the chasis number.Thats what I found out from my research.

Year - Code - Chassis No

1996 - CB250FT - MC31 100 or MC31-105

1997 - CB250FV - MC31 110

1998 - CB250FX - MC31 115

1999 - CB250FY - BA MC31 120 2000 - CB250F1 - BA MC31 125

2003 - CB250F3 - BA MC31 130

2005 - CB250F6 - BA MC31 140

2006 - CB250F7 - BA MC31 150

Oh geez !!! Well FYI !what our fellas in kurunegala are good at is number one printing those stickers (genuinely) you wouldn't even notice the difference and 2nd Reprinting the Chasis number as if they were done from the company .

As far as the budget of 400,000 goes, the hornet market has become crap these days people ask for different prices .

What you can considerably get is a 130 Chasis or if you are going for a recon a 125 .

chassis 130,140, and 150 came with crystal headlights. original 140 and 150 have bluish back light in the meters. and as I know 140 and 150s have slight differences in electrics department. even if you see same like meters they are different from inside than 120,125 and 130. for a example outer cover of a speedo of 120 is not interchangeable between 130 and 140. two tone color scheme only came with chassis 140 and 150. if you take rear hump of two tone (original) bike you will find a black sticker on it. thats how they get two tone on hump. no straight painting. I have seen it from a brand new bike :) all hornet 250's are stopped production in 2006. There's no 2007 models as some claim. There's only single exhaust in hornets as they come away from the company. I have a chassis 130 bike and I'm quite happy with it. if you do your regular service intervals with proper parts/lubricants there's no pain. It's a good bike i would say.

Yeah in some other thread I read, this guy had bought the bike from a place in kurunagela, which the seller had claimed to be a 130 chasis, but after buying the bike he had checked the code with the sticker, and according to the sticker it should have been a 125.Dude I hate this people
