I recently heard from my friends that Hyundai(PVT)Ltd is staging protests due to poor wages or some other reason & that they have delayed their customer's orders by 1 freaking year!!!! Some engineers at my father's work place are really angry because the Tucsons they were promised to be delivered by February 2012 have been further delayed to May! have any of you guys heard of this incident or is it just a pointless rumor??? I just really wanna know because a lot of people are inconvenienced.

I'm thinking it's true because when I went over there in February they said the vehicle could be delivered within 4 months. But went back late March(I tried calling them but no one answered, but before they would always pick up the phone) & when tried to take an invoice the sales exec said that they are "flooded with orders".Then I retorted that another sales executive (I won't name him lol) promised us in confidence that the vehicle would arrive by 4 months. Then he said that that guy was a good for nothing low life (Literally!!! called him a mongrel) Doesn't that seem unorthodox for a sales executive??

Other thing is Hyundai-kia factory in S.Korea churn out 1000s of Hyundai's every month. With robots on the job24x7 assembling away new vehicles. So how come the same company that makes Kia & Hyundai have shortages.I've heard of no such thing in the news.

If there's a major repair u should tell them a little time prior,

They don't stock parts that r not very commonly moving.

(i think it may be due to shelf life )

hey guys, just to let you guys know. we ordered a Hyundai Tucson in November 2010 and they promised delivery by end of march and at latest early April. And our confirmation letter also stated this!

However they don't seem to keep their promises as we still haven't received our car... Now just yesterday they said that the car has just been shipped from Korea and will be arriving in June.. Currently they say that the waiting list is 1 year and I would say it will surely take a lot more than that, so best of luck for the people who order now...

I had a chat with a very senior kia executive i personally knw. The problem is related to an outsourced supplier that manufactures piston rings for kia/hyundai engines. The supplier was facing a labour strike at the time (last week) and kia didnt have complete engines to manufacture, if the strike did not end by end of last week. This would be the case with hyundai as their suppliers are almost always the same. The expected delivery for the sorento was november / december

Another reason for these late deliveries are some of these models such as the sorento and the tucson were recently launched in some of the larger markets such as malaysia which has a volume of a about 400 - 500 units a month initially. Therefore, preference the Sri Lankan market got in allocation of finished goods have been reduced as KIA is trying to meet the orders in the new markets. This is also the reason for staggering delivery to our market

Hope this helps
