Currently I service my car every 12000 miles or once a year. [That is about 19000 km]. The car reminds me a service is needed or the agent calls me.

But why are we supposed to service diesels in Sri Lanka every 3500 km? [or is it 5000 km, cant remember exact figure]

5,000 Km is usually on japs. Most euro's have higher intervals. That said, given the constant driving in traffic and the local environmental conditions would require more frequent servicing

3000 or 5000.

the ford used to get it at 3000 at pitstop.

my weekday driving is limited to morning run to work and late night run back home...rarely in heavy traffic.

So now i've stretched the service interval to 5000.

this is the first time i'm going upto 5000 so if the oil is pretty bad this service..will go back to 3000 interval
