Other than that Montero V6 version and DID versions are good but it will cost u more than ur budget anyway itz not that difficult to find a bargain,

Well when it comes to 2800 intercooler it's too old i think but any way if u can find 95-96 model with door lights itz even more better than Prados always go for a RED CLOUR THREE TONE version coz it has very good second hand market in sri lanka .also be careful with engine,sunroof and dual ac systems in inter coolers CHEERS

Just out of curiosity why do you recon a door light pajero? Ourselves had a 95 B/new and there were no door lights and when we advertised i remember ppl asking if its door light and I was like wtf! From what I know only the domestic JDM's had these door lights. And i dont know about RED having more market price, but in our search over the years over different models iv noticed the color white on jeeps tend to add a few couple of hundred grands.

If you compare the 95, 96 prado's to intercoolers i'd say the intercoolers have more comfort but the toyota's have better engines, less rattles and sunroofs that dont tend to leak. But id still buy a mitsubishi.

On this budget if I can locate a decent 97,98 Land Cruiser Prado id be quite happy. Forget 99's,2000's. Intercoolers are on the 4.5 range and the 98 monteros are about 5.5 & up. Anything above 99 is beyond ur reach. Good luck!

First of all its 95 octane. Second, it's not the engine that fails, it's the high pressure fuel pump. I'm not sure where you got the airflow sensor thing from but the failure rate is not greater than most vehicles.

I know theres a problem with Fuel pump as well but it never happens to me , only thing i got is some issues with airflow sensor and couple of stuff im not satisfied with any of GDI versions , other thing is the engine was designed to run on low/zero sulpher fuel which is mandatory in Japan so that z y they advised to use at lest 97 octane .Redesign had to be done to the engine particulary the catalytic convertors to enable it to run on SL fuel.So thatz wat i call fail

Yha of course mate im totally agree with you . The door light thing and the red clour is just applied for sri lankan market not international . yah only domestic JDM's had door lights and also it was a optional adding for brand new inter coolers in those days so apparently we got some door light inter coolers in SL thatz Y the people keep asking about the door light thingy .

Paint stuff obviously different people prefer different paint works but when it comes to inter coolers with red clour exterior got a good 2nd hand market .

There are a number of issues here, failure of the high pressure fuel pumps (probably not before their time though, everything has a finite lifetime), expensive fuel filter, but finally less than ideal fuel figures due to impurities in fuel (usually too much sulphur). The GDi engines had these problems in most markets beyond Japan.

hey after going with the suggestions and the haji baji, i decide to go for the Mitsubishi montero 2001 petrol the model with out the GDI i found a 2001 montero for 4.5 Mill but it has the GDI and the jeep is not well maintained.Any way thanx guys for your suggestions.

yep I know. I was just correcting the other guy. 90 octane in the GDI does tend to trip the CEL and make the engine run rough. As for the fuel pump, it's the purity. I was going to disassemble one of the busted pumps I have lying around and see whats up. Maybe I should start today.

Might make you a lot of money In fact the Peugeot Hdi system is based on the Mitsubishi GDI system and it was a fantastic success !
