New OEM/peugeot parts are not hard to come by; but used parts are a different story

Using Peugeot's online service software it's very easy to figure out the part number of what you need, so apart from making life easier with the local shops (e.g. I can call the guy and ask for pricing/availability rather than have to remove the part and take it to the shop) it also makes buying from abroad (UK dealers, ebay) more practical. Lots of breakers in UK so that could be a viable option for some used stuff.

There's also a few places other than agents with the diagnostics system (Lexia) to check fault codes etc.

Haven't heard or not aware of any factory defects other than the famous AL4 auto box defect with the two solenoid valves inside the box. If this is manual you don't have to worry on that.

As ziffan said, there's no issue with spareparts and expertise on repairs.

A little thing to point out. The outsides of these cars have aged very well though the insides haven't quite had as good a ride. Check the interior and make sure it's in good condition before buying.

well basically the 206 manual is a good car .

But one of the major drawbacks is how it was used and who maintained it . If the wrong mechanic repaired it or did the servicing there could be major issues from wired up BSI's to different matters . check on the electrical side . The 206 engines are really good and since you are on a manual theres nothing much to worry on the drivetrain .

Built-in system interface .Its connected to the ecu and controls most of the electronic procedures. Most people Try to repair these bsi's when they are faulty by-passing wires and so on.Just check the electrical side .Other than that maintaining would be as simple as a tune-up to replacing a mount .
