How practical are leather interiors in Sri Lanka?

Main advantage of leather interior for me is it's resistance to stains such as coke, vomit, urine, ketchup, Hodi, etc.[One might know how it is like having kids in the back on a long trip]. It is just a matter of wiping them off with a wet cloth. If it was on a fabric seats you just have to kill the kids. But again in the winter your arse freezes unless you have winter pack. Leave it in the sun in summer your arse get third degree burns.

I know how uncomfortable the leather sofas are in Sri Lanka. { I gave mine to my mom, sorry mom}

Is it just a prestige thing?

Lol, I doubt your arse will freeze in Sri Lanka though, but I know about the burns hehe I remember my Lancer leather seats got so hot in the sun it made my girlfriend jump out of the car a few times! leather seats are also prone to cracking and generally looking shabby over time. They are also slidy, brake hard enough and the back seat passenger is on the floor. I like the look of new leather seats, but i don't think they're practical and they're certainly not useful. I get what you're saying about the blood, urine and vomit leave alone children I have to deal with that on SAturday nights with my grown-ass friends !! I guess you could try seat covers, or I remember my grandfather covering the back seat in plastic bags, sometimes muslin, and sometimes newspaper when taking the dogs to the vet, maybe you could try any of those. How small are they? Could try the boot. Or get leather seats and use a fabric cover and take them off for when you go on long trips.

Leather seats may not be practical for most, but when it comes to premium euro brands, the lack of it would also reduce its market value in Sri Lanka. If taken care of well, you could prevent the cracking or the potential shabby look. I generally apply a branded leather care once a month. My car generally is in a garage at home or in a basement at office. So its never in the hot sun. Sun and the generated heat by it is the greatest enemy of leather
