3C Turbo Engine For Kr 42

i have KR 42 and planning to convert. pls help me to find a good place to buy and how to check the condition of the engine? And the price range also.

Ive seen 3c turbo engines taken off cr40/cr50s from 190k for just the engine and upto 350k for engine gearbox combos.

As for places. I can't mention shop names but there are plenty in delkanda and also in some places along kandy road.

When I bought my engine I looked for an engine without the "timing belt changed at..." sticker on the t belt casing (not the most effective way cos its not always stuck on the engine), original utility belts that are fitted in the factory (can't remember the brand name unfortunately) and an overall clean appearance with no oil stains or anything. But its still quite difficult to tell the condition even after you start it up. buy it from a trusted place and you should be pretty ok.

I got the "motta" engine for 205k

On a side note its not a straightforward a conversion as you might think.

You'll need a 3c compatible gearbox if yours is an auto, or a bellhousing if its manual. Then you'll need new radiator (3c turbo radiators have 3 cores). new front subframe thats 3c/2c compatible if you don't wanna do a cut n shut job. a pre-heat kit for the ignition (wiring can be done locally), finally, the most difficult to find item, an original 3c turbo exhaust unit.

this type of engine conversition is not a very big thing....if u live near mathugama get it done from that place.. there r several places in Kottawa Homagama Area also....there may be good mechanics in your area also....

From where r u goin 2 get the engine Kit ??
