if you can take the gauge cluster off, its simple. once that is done, pull the cables off the gauge cluster, only clips u need to mark are the ABS & SRS once, both has the same plug but deferent color. the gear indicator is covered with a plastic cover, remove that, u can take the gear indicator board off it, the light are normal bulbs, check if you have bad connections there. there are transistors for each bulb, this is to help to dim the lights in the night. I'm sure its a bad solder joint. unless the light blinks are a driven frequency.

else check,

the cables that comes to the gauge cluster, maybe its a bad gear potion switch contact. D and E are switched by the ECU, so some times it can be some thing else as well. i had the same issue and it was a bad solder joint.

I think it is something to do with the pressure switches or the speed sensor because sometimes the speedometer stops working for few seconds and then it starts back.sometimes i get a small jerk too...but um not sure.can any one tell me the prices of the pressure switches and the speedometer sensor???

Kalinga ur advice is take.I dunno to open the cluster guage and stuff.i'd better go to a mechanic and get it done before spending for sensors or anything ne??

oh, that case do take it to some one... dont think its the cluster, but can be a bad solder or bad connection to the ECU. take it to Stafford and get an estimate and see. then you can take it to a small garage and get it fixed.
