Peugeot 406 Steering Vibration

my dear peugeot fans, my car is 1999 pegeot 406 d8 1.8 8v petrol. When i turn my steering wheel some times my car start to vibrate. it is not the engine but power steering column vibrates. also there is little streering fluid leakage at the upper oil seal. when i turn steering with engine turn off air bubbles coming at the steering fluid reservoir. will it be ok if i replace oil seal or have to replace entire power steering

need more information on the issue. How does it vibrates? when you turning from lock to lock at a standstill or while the vehicle is on the move?

do you maintain power steering fluid upto the level?

further, what did you mean by upper oil seal? in the rack head ? or in power sterring tubing? any chance of uploading a photo?

Harshan thanks a million times for ur reply. oil leaks from the rack head ( where the sreeting wheel shaft is connected). it vibrates when engine is running and steering wheel is turning about half or quarter round. major thing is air bubbles coming from the fluid reservoir when i turn the steering wheel even engine is not cranking. fluid level is ok.

Well, this seems like either a weak pump or air coming into the system randomly causing mini intervals of fluid pressure drop in the system. This could be the reason for the vibration.

This oil leak in the head should be fixed. Head is secured using two bolts and there's an o ring prevents fluid coming out. Fix it and see whether the issue sorts out.
