How To Identify The Multimatic Gear Box (Cvt)

Hi Guys

I am planing to buy an ES8 car (2001 - 2002 YOM) . Most of the people say that Honda multimatic gear box (CVT) gives problems over the period of time and advises to go for normal automatic or manual gear box. Please help me to identify the multimatic gear box and normal auto one.

Should I specially check any issues/facts which are common to ES8, before buying.

Easy, Just check for the multimatic mode selector knob on the gearbox console.
