hi guys i need to rentout a car when am coming to sl for my vacations any suggestions where to start?

and i've got a slight problem as well caz am 18 years old and i've heard almost all of the rental services needed the renter to be about 21 years old. so can my mom do all the paper work if so?

Most rental companies have a minimum age or a period you have held your license as per insurance guidelines or their own policies. There are enough local companies you can find online and I'm sure there are a few companies that may oblige you (sometimes with a larger deposit or a higher rental) depending on their insurance policies. You will have to do the ground work on this.

You have to declare all the drivers who will be behind the wheel when signing the rental agreement and that they conform to all the requirement. Your mother will run the risk or total liability incase of an incident or accident depending on the self-drive agreement and the insurance policy.

In most cases the deposit is taken as one months rental value, but this may change depending on the rental company you go for.

There also would be a clause that in case of an accident you will need to bear up to a certain amount, this is usually the insurance excess which the rental guys put in to have a lower premium. It is not always the case where u need to specify the person driving the vehicle, as a lot of these places rent out to companies, so your mother should be able to sign for the agreement , but like Milindu has mentioned just check it out before hand. I assume u do have a SL driving licence right ?

You also get the individual's renting out cars and u can find plenty in the Sunday papers. These will be very much cheaper than a big place, but u will not get certain benefits like quick replacement cars etc.. If u want a good place check out Kings Rent a Car in Battaramula. You could negotiate a lower rate if u plan to use it for a longer period.

thanks for replying mate i have the driving licence here so ill get the sl licence when i come over there

this kings rent a car... can you check with them if i can rent out a vehical if am 18 and if not can my mom do the paper work instead?
