Tata Indicas are mostly diesels using IDI(NA) engine pioneered by peugot AFAIK. It is a old school car and will need maintenance and in India, Engine life is approximately 200,000kms before it needs overhauling. this car is used by taxi operators because of huge space and good comfort. I've owned one briefly and it can give mileage like 20-24kmpl in highways and >16kmpl for city drive. Petrol Indicas are very less sold and are OK cars. check for electrical issues.

spares are cheap in India and servicing also is easy. Petrol Indicas are discontinued.

Tata Indica eV2 using CR4(Dicor CRDI) which is a modern engine and claims 25kmpl mileage officially expect 18-25kmpl mileage.

Private buyers will buy Tata Vista with fiat Multi Jet diesel or Petrol engines. old Indicas are primitive when compared to Vista.
