folks,

thinking of cleaning my carb .....just wanted to know do these so called carb cleaners actually work. Has anyone tried them. for me i would like to know the concept of how it works i mean it looks a bit funny to just think of a liquid that can clean all those small holes in the carb.nevertheless i still would like to try it and see.

an old chap told me that once you put a few drops into the carb and rev the engine you can see the dirt from the exhaust......i personally did not agree with him but still just curious.

Rameez i would not advice you to tamper with ur carb with a liquid cleaner or with a makaa baas as the former working on ur lancer carb is doubtful and the latter breed will tamper and ruin ur carb!

Always go to a reputed mechanic who knows ur model well to tune the carb

Agree with carboy2011. Carb is not a grown up people's toy to have fun. Best you could do is buy a good carb cleaner from store and visit a good technician and be a spectator there of the cleaning process. Otherwise you will waste time and money for an unwanted adult fun.

mini/carboy..

what i wanted to know is that will a carb cleaner work successfully. i am not going to tamper with the carb as u said. If i buy a carb cleaner and put the liquid into the carb will this clean it ??......do we need expertise for this.

speaking of carb specialists i am wondering where to go for my car which is a lancer A72...it is not giving any problem but since the day i bought it i have never cleaned the carb.....so since the service guys do not clean carbs,, after reading the internet just thought of trying the carb cleaner.

thanks for info by the way.

I have used WU*** carb cleaner my self. Can see/feel the difference after use, but never seen dirt out of exhaust. Should be a really dirty carb i guess
