Wii Homebrew Not Working

Hi, The Wii my kids play with is hooked on to a hard disk for games and you have to go through the Homebrew channel to access the games. It was working fine till yesterday and then its suddenly stopped. Now the screen does not go beyond the bubble screen and there is a cone shaped icon blinking on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. i checked the HD by hooking it on to the computer and it was accessed fine: including the game partition.

Any ideas on what the problem could be or any one who could help resolving the issues......
