Su14 Gear Changing Issue

Hi. Guys i hv a su14 diesel manual car. The problem is when i start in the morning its difficult to change gear. When i put to reverse it makes a krrrr noise and changing gears are difficult. But after i run for a while it gets resolved. The car has done 250 k on the clock and gear box oil has been changed at around 150k. The clutch also was replaced not that long ago. What u guys think???

Well the issue could be one of three.

1. The clutch is not disengaging properly when you press the pedal. This could be because the cable/ hydraulic arm needs to be adjusted, there is an issue with the clutch pump if its a hydraulically operated clutch or the pressure plate has warped.

2. The gear level bushes, linkage or the gear selector (the box the gear stick is connected to) is worn or faulty.

3. The gearbox and cogs inside are worn

You need to have a mechanic look at this as soon as possible and go through a process of elimination to find the exact issue.

if you haven't changed transmission oil in 100K , then there's a high possiblity of this getting resolved once you do a transmission oil change. A manual tranny wouldn't require more than 2 liters in general and costs a dime compared to an oil change of an auto.

so without wasting more time on obtaining online opinion, get an oil change done and see the difference.
