Awissawella To Galigamuwa Road Condition

The closest route to Kandy from where I live is via Awissawella -> Karawanella -> Galigamuwa -> to Kandy road.

But a few months ago the road from Awissawella was under construction and was in a bad condition.

Does anyone know if the road works are complete or if the road is still in bad shape ? Thanks.

I went about a month back from galigamuwa to kuruwita. Up to Awissawella it was in a pretty bad condition. I don't think it's completely repaired by now. when I came back I took the root via kithulgala -> ginigathhena -> nawalapitiya to kandy. The total ditance was higher than the other root. but less traffic reasonably good road, and I truly enjoyed the drive.. :-)

you are welcome, If you are driving in early morning or night the road may be a bit misty.....

but its a totally different experince to drive through that road than the other busy roads...

I love that road, I used to go for drives on it some years back. but it was replaced by Panadura - Ratnapura road.

Is that road carpeted from Ginigathhena to Gampola ?

yes road is carpet from ginigathhena up to kandy....
