Is it the sound of slippery belts...?

I had bit of a same problem sometime back... slippery belts sounding when you start the car in the morning specially.

replasing a belt worked out my problem.....

I may be wrong as im not a specialist (Only thing i know about cars is driving :action-smiley-060: )

Dude

It looks like the belt, its also worthwile to check the bearings, last year I had a similar noise in the AC and to see the bearings were gone

when the AC has not been used for a longtime its best if u get it serviced fully and then use it,u may need to change the oil seals as weel

hope this helps

It can't be the fan as the fan normally works when the engine heats up.

Must be 2 reasons...

1) Slipperey belt as nipunas told.

2) May be a bad Compressor, a worn out compressor also makes big noice.

Once I had this big noice and it was from the compressor. Had to replace the compressor then its ok.

I once had a 88 Accord that had a bad (seized) compressos which made an awful noise when u turned on the AC. The belt would start to burn fast cos (engine) pulley was turing while the compressor was stuck. Good luck with it...
