Sorry dude, they both look hedeously ugly to me. I'll take an Audi A8 or a used S-Class for that money, ............until I can afford a Maserati Quattroporte!

Yea. I agree with that. Aura can't touch the new Lexus range. The IS and the GS are being compared to Mercs and Beamers.

In terms of refinement Lexus is said to be the best by some claims

The new 2007 Lexus LS 460. I guess it looks better than its predecessor. Its radar guidance system is supposed to be more advanced than the mercs too.
