Fuel System Cleaners on GDI Turbos

Guys, I've used fuel system cleaners  on all my previous cars and had good results with 3M and Wurth products. However all of them were non GDI cars.

 

I currently have an Scross 1L turbo. No particular issue in general but its nearing 30K and i want to keep it running smooth.

Whats the wisdom on using fuel system cleaners on GDI car? Im asking specifically because ive noticed on previous cars that the engine has a bit of a loss in power and slight knock when these are added.

Cant seem to find anything online on this either.
