Wanted to sell it when I bought the black 2.0, but my father uses the green one now. So I have to wait till he changes his mind, but don't mind having two 156s in the household . Btw my bro who's a Merc man got the bug too and drives a growling 2.0 155. Yes I saw the black one at the car sale. Don't know much about the history of it except that its a 1.6. Can get it checked if you like.

Still you need to check out the history or it will end up costing you that price anyway. Let me know if you are really interested, perhaps I can arrange Indika to check it out for you. Not cared for and had a load of issues according to ppl who knew it. It's 1.8. These cars simply have to be serviced and repaired by a speciallist or else 1. Owning and driving will not be nice 2. In the end you'll have to spend more to put it right. I suppose this is true for all cars but more so for a car like an Alfa.
GTAm
Ripper said: wow...is that 156 yours? love the lines of that car...and apparently it handles bloody well too...never driven one would love to own one but i'm not knowledgeable enough on these cars to maintain one properly Yes, despite the limitations of FWD it can corner very hard and is a LOT more pleasurable to drive than a BMW until you are at very high speeds where a BMs RWD layout makes its presence felt. But then how often can you drive at those speeds on our dangerous roads? The 156 is one of the better built Alfas and (touch wood) this green one has been very trouble free for me. I faced only two issues in more than one and a half years of ownership. One was the A/C (needed a cooler and valve) and the other was something called a step up motor that siezed. Email me if you are really interested and I could tell you more.

GTAm
miniace said: This is great bro!! Get me good!! Thanks! MINIACE Hi MiniAce sorry for the delay. Found out some info about that 156 GH-9999. The engine is in good shape according to our specialist. The suspension might need some attention sooner or later as the bushes were done locally. The gearbox housing was broken once but all is in order now. I believe they're quoting 1.8m? Should be able to get it a bit lower according to him. With Alfas there's no reason you can't offer a ridiculously low price as there are very few takers as they're very scared about the "No agents" business. I'm involved with the said brand with my work... yes there are a few FIAT vehicles on the road but sadly not as much as we expected... Quite difficult to offset public opinion on this brand cos the previous FIAT dealers and the vehicles have had problems in SL... Many i came across were on the opinion that they over heat in SL conditions...etc etc Of course this is not the case in reality..not now at least The spares cost, lack of service personnel, resale value, iron grip that the japs have over local market are all making it quite tough for the european brands
GTAm
To my knowledge they have not got the Alfa agency and I doubt that they'll get it soon. The situation for well established brands like Merc and BMW are very tough already with our exorbitant taxes, so it would be very very hard to make an Alfa agency profitable right now. Hey Ripper good to know that you work with Fiat. Yes perception is terrible in SL and quite rightly so as ALL the previous agents simply messed up big time and killed the brand. I'm sure you're aware about what the last agent did. The other thing is and you can tell the current agents your client (with compliments) that they've orderd wrong specced cars and driven the price up unneccesarily. The GP has cruise control, alloys and premium stereo which is not ESSENTIAL in a small hatch. Then there's also the Panda which is over-priced. What they really should import is the Panda 4WD and market it as a pseudo SUV which most folk clamour for. Anyway it's a small start but a start none the less. So we can be a bit happy ! I think the present Panda models will be discontinued here due to lack of demand and mainly the price factor... there are too many good competition in that target market group with better overall deals... The Panda Monster etc are quite cool... you can go to www.fiatautopress.com and take a look at the vast range of Panda models quite fascinating There's one that can go in water also One good thing is that the present agents have invested in their servicing department... Met the snr guy at their workshop and the man is quite knowledgeable and more than that passionate about his cars. he's being to Italy more that 2 dozen times or so on training if my memory is correct.... Yes well that kind of investment is a precondition by the Company. It's a good idea to bring the Monster and other variants of the Panda. What I'm saying is they wasted their 1st year by bringing cars with the wrong spec. SL is such a tough mkt because of the heavy taxes and loads of competition. So it's best they put in more thought if they really want to crack the mkt.

Big big mistake. true... gone are the days "brands" dictated to customers now the tables have turned and consumer is the king with a huge variety of options... No more captive audiences so each brand has to do that extra and win the customer or else he will find an alternative
