I saw Fuzzo's new signature just awhile ago. It say If NISMO is Nissans Motorsport division Honda Motorsport should be HOMO.... Thats a nice one.

Actually Honda is lot more creative than that when it comes to a name:

Mugen Motorsports (M-TEC Co., Ltd) (無限) is a Japanese company formed in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda, and Masao Kimura. Mugen, meaning "Without Limit", is an engine tuner and parts manufacturer closely associated with the Honda Motor Company. Despite the family connections, however, Mugen is not, and has never been, owned by Honda. Things were complicated for some time as Mugen was owned and run by Hirotoshi Honda, who has been the major shareholder in Honda since his father's death in 1991.

The company tunes and races Honda vehicles in the Super GT championship, and, additionally, sells aftermarket parts to amateur enthusiasts. It was part of partnerships that won the Formula 3000 championship in 1990 and 1991, and that eventually lead to Mugen's involvement in Formula 1, from 1992 to 1999, and up to 2005 was the exclusive supplier of Formula Nippon engines.

Watcha mean, Honda is more creative? Read that again. Mugen isn't officially affiliated to Honda. "Closely associated" but "not owned". Meaning Honda as a company had no say in the naming. Also, its sorta moot since they changed it to M-Tec. The name "Mugen" is no more in use. Except by a lotta rice boys in SL...

i have seen one of them in SL. Has anyone else scene it?

are you serious? i wouldn't be surprised anyway... but it's a great car from what i've read and its styling isn't too bad either... what you should check out is the VX lightning concept... it was displayed at canary wharf in 2003... gorgeous but i don't think vauxhall is going to make it...

Honda engines are pretty good in their right- and the company chooses to focus on it's core business and hence let a seperate entity handle 'sports'

Yes the name has changed- but any guesses as to what the 'M' stands for? :violent-smiley-030:

Well the most riced cars in the country are the EG and EK which came out during the time of Mugen right?

Well Mugen or M-tec sounds a lot better than Nismo which rymes with Homo lol :angry-smiley-024:

Mugen ..."sells aftermarket parts to amateur enthusiasts"

machan that doesn't sound ...right?

Well Mugen sells parts for all areas relating to Honda cars and majority of it's sales will be to the amature enthusiast market- (the largest market) which covers a broad scope I guess. This is also just wiki

Pila, ur arguments are not addressing the issue that I raised, which was that u can't call Honda creative based on a name chosen by a third party after market company that happens to specialise in Hondas.

So, no arguments on the first part. If they have a motorsports div or not is their own business. chaater from my POV, but its a business thing, and its their business.

on 2, have u checked into WHY they changed the name? :D

on three, could be most of the riced out EG and EKs got their rice additions after the name change too. This name change has been in effect some time.

Of course, M-Tec sounds good. They copied it from BMW! :P And Nismo, when pronounced right, sounds like a blowoff valve. Who said blowoff valves sound like "jisss"? :D

How come ur starting everything with "Well"? Gave up on "never-the-less"? :angry-smiley-024:

Never the less this time Peri!!

Honda and M-tec are both owned by the same party! Why open an internal motors sports Dept/Company when you already own one!! :P

You missed my point about the EG/EK thing! those cars CAME OUT during the TIME of Mugen lol :D

You mean Nismo sounds like 'blooooww' is it?? Hmmm that sounds like some thing Homos and Hetro's would do ;):D

Mugen was changed to M-tec due to Govt. tax issues with the owners and on the word 'M-tec' who knows?! bmw could have come up with it but the Honda tuning company must hold the right to it- or else BM would have sued them by now. Anyway we'll never know I guess- none the less Honda did come up with v-tec right? and that sounds good right?and is creative :action-smiley-060: and didnt the rest of the small displacement motor world end up following the 'variable valve timing' v-tec principle

Enough enough your putting me in danger- in danger of falling into the "Honda is god's gift to man' gang of autolanka! Which incidentally is a gang that does have peculiar habits lol B)

One of my friends sent this to me, a girl by the way, everything which is said in it is correct. he he.:action-smiley-060:

The Guys' Rules

At last a g u y has taken the time to write this all down

Finally , the guys' side of the story.

(I must admit, it's pretty good.)

We always hear " the rules"

From the female side.

Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!

Please note.. these are all numbered "1"

ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.

You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.

We need it up, you need it down.

You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon

or the changing of the tides.

Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport.

And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.

Let us be clear on this one:

Subtle hints do not work!

Strong hints do not work!

Obvious hints do not work!

Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do.

Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a Problem.

See a doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.

In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't Expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are.

Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one

1. You can either ask us to do something

Or tell us how you want it done.

Not both.

If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.

Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched.

We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong.

We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as SEX, CARS, the shotgun formation,

or NASCAR .

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this.

Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;

But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Pass this to as many men as you can -

to give them a laugh.

Pass this to as many women as you can -

to give them a bigger laugh

Dude, u need to step outta ur Honda from time to time and ride a turbo vehicle. Nigel, if u want to loose ur lunch while listening to blow-offs B) blow-offs don't go "blooooww". To quote someone in this forum, they go "hmmmmm jisss" :action-smiley-060: On the bright side, Honda are going turbo in some areas, so u don't have to change companies. :P What was that SUV? TDX? RDX? summin like that.

And owned by the same party does not make them the same company. If Bill Gates aquired a majority shareholding in a company from his personal portfolio, it doesn't make it a MS subsidary.

Didn't the EKs come around 2000? Ur cutting it close to the name change from Mugen  Well, still, Mugen stickers aint as popular as Type-R ;)

Just outta curiosity, how much independant R&D does M-Tec do? Are they the guys behind Honda's F1 program?

I love v-tec man. Specially when newbies who wanna boast about their great cars say they have "v-tech" :D

This thing says I am using up too many, emoticons, so I'm removing them from ur quote lol

he he nothing to beat boost man- no two words about it. I was actually considering dumping mine at a time for a certain Sti- but deiceded against it for practical reasons. Dude I aint a honda nut and never was one!

By the way I ment blow rhyming with Nismo

Mugen can still be used dude- m-tec still ownes and uses the brand everywhere including their racing programme lol- Fark the Type R stickers, I'm considering this one:

heartay5.jpg

The number of adds I see in the sunday papers with 'vtech' is just insanely funny

he he your really testing me no?

The only R&D Mugen does is in the after market part area- both cars and bikes. They got parts for all new honda models- including stuff for the Odessy

No they are not directly involved in the present Honda F1 programme but were in the past and very prominently in the days of Jorden

No smilies dude- left all the space for you! : ))))

YO Peri! the EK's started coming in by 94/95! So yes MUGEN would have been the name used at that time..........by the way MUGEN has done some really good work on Civics, Inegras & particularly on the S2000 roadsters! They've made monsters outta these things........In my opinion TypeR badges and stickers should not be used if you don't have the real thing. The TypeR variation comes from the company itself. But hey 'Mugen' can be used widely since it stands for aftermarket performance enhancing technology........no one will ever know if your bluffing the ride or not! :action-smiley-060:
