Just out of curiosity, what kind of tax rate would apply to a kit car if its shipped in pre-assembly form? Will it just be taxed as spare parts?

Kit cars are essentially fibre glass body shells which use é running gear & platform of another vehicle and can be put together by a person who knows his way around a tool kit

they come with instructions on how to install it

there are also other kit cars which have thier own mechnicals but most use engines & gear boxes from other cars n even bikes

then there are other kit cars like those which are made to look like Ferrari's n other such exotics!

in fact there is a Yellow Ferrari roadster look-alike kit car in sri lanka!
