2nd gen L200 modifications and parts

I'm looking at modifying my 1991 mitsubishi L200. I firstly want to install a 1" lift kit. Any ideas if it's available and where I can get it from? 

Also general tips, dos and don'ts for this vehicle are appreciated!

Well, there should be lift kits available. After so long, there won't be model-specific lift kits, but you should be able to find all the general parts required for the lift. Make sure you go to a proper 4WD specialist. The last thing you want is some maka baas welding together springs and random risers to the chassis.

General advice.... don't do anything that cannot be undone. Bring the vehicle to a good/generally acceptable stock condition and start building from there. Don't stick unnecessary bull bars and huge lights, etc... Assuming you want this to be a daily driver and for on-road cruising, these things, along with overly large wheels/tires, are cumbersome. Plus you end up looking like a poser. If this is a city-driving cruiser, it is much better to bring the truck to a pristine stock condition and give it very subtle mods like a small lift and not-too-crazy wheels that give the vehicle a nice flush but stock look (make it seem like something that came out of the factory but not). Get proper parts for the lift, including dampers (i.e., shock absorbers). If you go with "un-reputed" or cheap options, you are going to completely kill the vehicle's on-road handling and comfort.
