Honda Civic (FK6) - Battery Replacement Options?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, recently got an FK6, and the battery is on its last legs as per the check up done - the shop I usually visit told me that you can run it for 3-6 months. What's a the proper battery for a 2017 Honda Civic FK6 (EX)? I believe it requires some special battery due to the auto start/stop.

For the stop start to work you need EFB batteries. My FK6 originally came with a Varta battery that lasted 4 years. During the fuel crisis in 2022 mine packed up and I was unable to find an EFB battery - there was a huge problem with supply chain back then as well- I ended up getting a Yuasa without EFB. It packed up in 2 years.

Currently I'm running an Amaron AGM (60mah) - so far no complaints. Cost me around 50K. The EFB batteries come with one year warranty as opposed to two.

Yeah, mines got a Yuasa right now too. You recommend the Amaron AGM then, yeah?

Yup. I really was not impressed with the Yuasa.

Thank you. Will get that in a week or two. Thank you so much. Is there any model code/specifics I need to look for when getting it?

Well if you just look for 60Mahwith EFB it should fit the bill. Let me check the model code I have and get back.
