Have u decided on upgrading the engine to a 2.0 lit?

its definitely going to happen, when would be the question ....the to-do list is substantial before an upgrade is possible, particularly considering the treatment it has received by previous owner....the rust removal/paint is top priority, then parts like rear lights, some interior trim, suspension etc etc have to be replaced.....so realistically im hoping on complete all the research [dont think any e30 engine swaps have been done in SL before?], hunting down an engine and the associated parts during the final quarter of the year, fingers crossed!

Just to keep the euro fans updated, a 2002 single owner E39 changed hands for 32 recently. Good to know prices are becoming more affordable for these great cars...still haven;t found a decent machine for myself though

Exciting times ahead! good that u decided to change the rear lights. An original set would give it back the look it deserves

Ya well, that the going price for 2002 model E39's with slightly higher mileage. 100k or more with pretty basis options. Anyway a e39 should not cost more than 4 mil ideally. Strange how similar period e46's go for a higher price!

There were quite a few older and facelift e39's at the agents getting prepped for sale by the owners.

Shouldnt the e60 ideally go for around 7.0mil with these price trends? say a 2005/06 model?

My Alfa was painted by a place in Pangiriwatte, Nugegoda. Price was reasonable and he did a good job. I decided to give him becasue he showed me a E30 black he has painted. Also he was recommended by a freind of mine. Alfa has plastic panels on the doors and you need plastic primer and some skills to paint it properly, and he did well. 4 doors and the buffers and small touch up her and there and and a cut and polish, all for 12k. I supplied the paint only. Let me know if you need me to send you the contact details.

I think the 525i is the best balance between power an economy for that car as even in automatic form it pulls very well. Just a small note of caution, at least the UK cars have a problem with front suspension as it seems to wear off rather prematurely (at around 50K miles). I remember a good friend of mine telling me it was a common problem with this particular model.

Milroy will take a month of Sundays to finish the car, and the figure will increase each week...

A 525i(auto) I drove recently felt a bit sluggish and floaty (possibly the suspension issue), haven't had a chance to drive a 530d yet, which I'm quite keen to.. all that torque low down

Auto's are a bit sluggish yes, from a standing start.. but once it gets to 2nd gear... different story. Even better when in sports mode.
