Guys

I have a 1.3 Nissan FB14.

Can anybody explain how the gears changes according to the speed?

What would be the ideal constant speed for better petrol consumption driving in Colombo?

The best economical speed is 50=60 km while RPM is less than 1800.

he's asking about colombo....pretty tough to drive at 50,60 kmph constantly in colombo...at best of times...

the above may be true for outstation where you can cruise at a constant speed for a longer duration...for colombo...well just forget it...don't accelerate hard only to stop within 10 meters, be gentle on the padel (no point getting to higher speeds only to apply brakes) and ignore the idiot behind you flashing his headlights and blasting his horn for you to close the gaps quickly

Concentrate more on the RPM and stay below 2000.But here are many other important things than speed and RPM effect the overall consumption figure.Hope you are aware!

I don't think the rpm suggestions are gonna help much. He said the car is an auto earlier. As to maintaining any kinda speed in Colombo, the time window for that is generally from around 10pm to 5 am. Even then, that is provided you can find a road in a decent state of repair.

For you, only Pissa's advise is can be repeated. Control ur foot and gentle on the gas.
