Dimantha, Mahagastotte was today, and it was phenomenal as usual. Nishan Weerasooriya equalled the course-record held by Rohan De Silva in a Modified Formula car, and shattered his own SL-GT record in the process. He only needed one run to do it and if he is to be believed, retired on the spot. Setting the identical time to a modified 2-litre, 400 kg single-seater running full slicks is a fantastic, and historic, achievement - props to him. I'll post pictures and videos tomorrow.

excuse the ignorance, but is 'Magasthota' and 'Radalla' the same thing??? cos Nishan has run both events, and i found it hard t believe that he can be in 2 parts of the country on the same date.

Events are 1 day apart. And Sri Lanka is a small place the hill country is even smaller Somewhat close by.

Thanks for the Information KLM. Please do post some pictures. I guess he is one of the Finest Drivers and has had brilliant spell in Hill Climbs for the Last 10-11 years.

Radella is on the way up to Nuwara Eliya and Mahagastotte is on the Badulla road, just past the lake - a part of Pedro Tea estate.

This time was the 74th yerar of Mahagastotte and next years gonna be big.

The event was superb and the competitors were fantastic, rivalry on the track but after the run everyone helping everyone else.

All going to party together after the evnt. Superb to see.
