panhida
Hi All, Please could somebody advise me the process in getting a copy of a Land Deed and where I should go to apply for such a document. Does this have to be done through a lawyer or do I have to visit some ministry to get same. The matter is that My betterhalf has inherited a small block of land and the deed seems to be missing. The relations do not know who has the deeds and the matter keeps dragging as is always the case with land matters. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you. You will have to go to the Land Registry. It will be easy if you go throughh a lawyer, just give the title deed number to the lawer and he will get a copy for you. Like Bharath suggests obtain the services of a lawyer on this matter. Land issues tend to be somewhat over complicated by bureaucracy and employing a lawyer would simply mean it will get resolved without too much of a headache to yourself ! especially compared to the cost of hiring a lawyer ! Thank you Guy's, I see the best thing to do is getting a lawyer to handle the matter and it would be smooth. Will do that, thanks again for the advise.
