Question

Posted (edited)

Hi,

I bought a E36 318 i about a year and a half ago and brought it to its original glory with a lot of effort + $$$. If anybody was allowed open the hood it was only the specialist in Kelaniya.

I'm the 2nd owner and the previous guy had it for 11 yrs. Must say he did a pretty good job taking care of it.

Stuff I did

[*]Timing belt and other belts

[*]Engine mounts

[*]Complete suspension repair (all inclusive)

[*]Breaks

[*]Petron pump replaced

[*]Face lift

[*]New steering (BMW 3 spoke)

[*]All clips and bushes in door locks and panels

[*]Bonnet Dampers

[*]Front & back parking sensors

[*]Remote lock

[*]AC re-done

[*]2 services so far with mobil 1 (latest 2 weeks ago)

[*]4 New Michelin Tyres (last week

[*] Always pumped 95 oct fuel

Must say driving this some times feels better than making love :)

I recently got a Honda Aria from where i work and the bimmer is suddenly grounded 24*7

What should I do with this ???????????????? Any briliant ideas ?????????????

Those are 195*65*15

Each cost me 11,600, from U&H Malay Street, Got a friend from D*MO's to call them and lower the price, if not would have been bit more expensive

Crash the Aria, get the insurance, keep driving the BM.

The company will get the insurance claim since it's a company owned car.... :action-smiley-060:

.......................................

Suggestion 1: Keep the BM as the weekend drive.

Suggestion 2: Return the Aria and request the company to pay a vehicle allowance to drive the BM. You might save some bucks if they grant you a good allowance.

Its well cleaned and covered right now :)

Drive once a week to office if no rain and a spin on a Friday night or a Sunday eve.....

Will play by the ear and see, don't want it to idle too much as cars get cranky by being still

Thanks guys... will post some pics ASAP

Go for Ash's suggestion number two - Nego with the company. Hope they are flexible. Bee Emms need to be driven (quite hard) to keep them in ship shape and ensure no annoying problems crop up.

I had two E36s one after the other, so I know what you mean. The Aria must be torture after the Beemer!

Know wat u mean, these things need constant action, Driving the Honda feels as if i'm on a date with a lesbian :)

Too bad i'm stuck with it for 3 yrs as there's a lease involved so...... gotto live with it.
