Last week a bus rear ended our Jeep. there was slight body damage and a light is broken. We filed a complaint with the police and in courts, the driver was fined Rs. 10,000. We did not get anything.

Apparently we have to file another case to get some sort of payment from the bus' insurance to pay for the damages.

Does anyone know the procedure for this?

You have to file a different case at the court asking the claim from their insurance. Lawyers know the procedure.

It is not a expensive matter.

machang how come the settlement wasn't done thru the bus guys insurance in the first place? provided that he

had the same insurance as you.

I rear ended a car once and that guy claimed through my insurance with no hassle. both were on the same insurance tho.

but to get back to your problem at hand, yes you will now have to file a new case, but this apparently doesn't take much

time to see through. At least from what I've heard anyway.
