4d56 Intercooler Fan

Thanks for reading my post.

I've got my hands on a Mitsubishi workshop manual for 4D56 Inter-cooler Turbo engine and it has a diagram showing a fan underneath the inter-cooler assembly. I recently bought a used engine but never received a fan for the inter-cooler. I have checked a few engines but never seen the inter-cooler fan either.

Value your experience on this.

Found that the fan is there to help cool the charge going into the engine while the vehicle is going at slow speed but working hard, i.e in low ratio.

I guss its possible that Mitsubishi designed the system to accommodate a fan but only put it on on certain vehicles possibly exported to certain parts of the globe like Africa or the Middle East.

Thanks Don. Yes it seems both versions are available.

I found Intercoolers for both 4D56 and 4M40 with the fan. They are cheap
