Mitsubishi J Series (4dr5 In Sl) Final Drive Ratio

I'm looking for a Mitsubishi J series Final drive ratio. lately one of my friend swap a 4DR5 Engine to a Land Rover Series 3 (Petrol Model) which is a different Final drive ratio. are there any J series owners in Autolanka?

Generally any petrol vehicle (except auto) has lower final drive ratios than diesel. Diesels have higher ratios to provide high speed in lesser range of engine RPM. Finding the final drive of the diesel version of same model (Land rover series 3 in your case) would be sufficient I guess. Just check the RPM range of the 4DR5 engine and the intended engine of the land rover diesel model. if both are more or less same there wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks a lot machan. we fitted a 4DR5 and the vehicle feels bit underpowered in 1st and 2nd. we wanted to match up with the J series final ratios. so that must be the reason.. thanks again.
