JDM Engines and Cars

Japanese automakers could only produce their car with 280 hoursepower for domestic market. In reality there're a lot of cars with more than 280 hoursepower like Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, and so on. Japanese companies will launch high-powered cars soon. On June 10, Japan Auto manufacturers agreed to abolish the 280 HP agreement.

Yes, not too sure, Yes, not too sure.

Even tho the published figures for some cars, like the Evos and Skylines are 276, it's been suspected that its actually more. and the Evo 9 came after they dropped the agreement. So did the New Z (2006), which is why its 300hp. The older ones, same engine were rated at 276.

A) it wasn't a LAW, it was a "gentlemans agreement"

:D Evo 9 was AFTER the gentlemans agreement was scrapped.
